Early Career Investigators Group

Empowering the next generation of ACTRIscientists

The Early Career Investigators (ECI) Group is a growing initiative within the ACTRIS community designed to support and amplify the voices of young professionals across our network. The idea for this group arose from various internal discussions, highlighting a clear need for more regular and dedicated exchanges among the younger members of the ACTRIS ecosystem.

Whether you're a student just beginning your scientific journey or a staff member in the early years of your career, the ECI Group provides a welcoming space for networking, learning, and collaboration.

What is the aim of the ECI Group?

The ECI Group is here to:

  • Strengthen the voice of early-career researchers within ACTRIS by offering a platform to express ideas, share research findings, and communicate professional needs.

  • Act as a bridge between young scientists and ACTRIS experts, including Principal Investigators (PIs), National Facility leaders, and the Head Office.

  • Welcome newcomers into the ACTRIS community by offering insights into the structure, operations, and culture of the infrastructure.

  • Foster knowledge transfer, professional development, and collaboration opportunities across the wide spectrum of ACTRIS domains.

We aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where ECIs feel confident to present their work, ask questions, and engage in open discussions.

What can you expect?

As part of the ECI Group, you'll benefit from:

  • Opportunities to connect with peers and experienced researchers across ACTRIS.

  • A friendly forum to present your research, receive feedback, and grow professionally.

  • Regular updates via the ECI mailing list, including calls for participation in workshops, training courses, conferences, and other community events.

  • A chance to contribute actively to shaping the future of ACTRIS from an early-career perspective.
