These tools are the core outputs of RI-URBANS, developed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge atmospheric research and public health policies. They provide guidance and methodologies for authorities, regulators, and stakeholders to:

  • Measure and model emerging air pollutants, such as ultrafine particles and black carbon
  • Integrate advanced air quality monitoring into existing observation networks
  • Strengthen the link between scientific knowledge and urban air quality management

By offering practical solutions to urban air quality challenges, the RI-URBANS Service Tools empower European cities to design more effective strategies to combat air pollution and improve the health of their citizens.

ACTRIS is proud to be part of RI-URBANS, where research infrastructures play a crucial role in translating scientific excellence into tangible benefits for society. This achievement demonstrates how long-term investment in atmospheric research directly supports better-informed policies, healthier environments, and more sustainable cities across Europe.
