ACTRIS-Italy continues its collaboration with regional environmental agencies
Published: 31, March, 2026
As follow up of the event “Towards the new European Air Quality Directive: Dialogue and Synergies between Research Infrastructures, Local Authorities, and Environmental Agencies," held on April 7 and 8, 2025, ACTRIS Italy organized a series of thematic online meetings on the new Air Quality Directive with Regional Environmental Protection Agencies (ARPA) and ISPRA.
The series of meetings aim to address the main topics that emerged during the April 2025 event, offering the opportunity to discuss them in more depth. Each meeting represents the beginning of a journey and will aim to exchange knowledge between ACTRIS, ARPA, and ISPRA and identify ways of interacting to support the new European legislation on air quality (EU Directive 2881/2024). This series of events opened in February-March with a meeting on Black Carbon followed by other two meetings on Source Apportionment and Ultrafine particles. The new upcoming events will be focused on Supersite (31st of March) and Aerosol Profiling (10th of April).
A wide participation has been recorded for each of the meetings already held with around 70 participants. High interest from ARPAs is recorded, with request of experienced support and share of knowledge. Shared space has been organized collecting slides, documentation and ACTRIS SOPs. Further specific actions have been designed for each main topic following ARPAs requests.
