Lidar Meeting
13 Dec 2024

From 9th to 12th of December, the annual Lidar QA/QC Workshop brought together representatives from 27 stations for another productive and insightful event.

Hosted online by experts from CARS and ARES, this year’s workshop expanded the focus to include discussions on both QA testing and data processing, making it an even more comprehensive platform for collaboration.

Each station participated in a dedicated 30-minute session, providing the opportunity to review quality assurance reports, discuss measurement procedures, and address technical challenges or uncertainties with guidance from the CARS experts. For new stations, the sessions also served as a platform for introductions and familiarization with the broader network. Additionally, participants were able to raise specific questions about the SCC, a topic handled by the ARES team. This structured approach ensured that all critical topics were addressed, fostering meaningful and productive discussions.

Beyond these focused exchanges, participants received updates on their labelling processes, therefore ensuring clarity and alignment across all stations. The workshop underscored the importance of streamlined procedures and clear communication to support the network’s continued growth.

The event was not just a technical deep dive—it also served as an opportunity to strengthen the community of lidar professionals. The shared insights, collaborative spirit, and expert guidance highlighted the collective commitment to innovation and excellence in QA/QC practices.
