Romania has invested about 13.5 mil. EUR in the framework of the CEO-Terra project (Research Centre for Environment and Earth Observation) in order to build the necessary capacities for the pan-European research infrastructure ACTRIS. The candidate National Facility located in Magurele – 6 km South-West Bucharest – along with the unit at the Centre for Aerosol Remote Sensing were upgraded and equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, indoor and outdoor laboratories.

On 21st of May 2021, the infrastructure was presented to the ACTRIS community and to the main stakeholders. Starting now, these facilities are open to TransNational Access through the recently funded project ATMO-ACCESS.
